English & Literature Teacher (Private School)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate English and Literature teacher for a private school in Naivasha, Kenya. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that inspire a love of reading and critical thinking, contributing to students’ academic and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain an engaging learning environment and develop lesson plans catering to diverse learning styles.
• Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and respect.
• Integrate cross‑curricular links to deepen understanding of English literature.
• Provide mentorship, feedback to students and parents, and participate in extracurricular activities.
• Utilise digital tools to enhance student engagement and analyse performance data for instructional decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education degree with a specialization in English & Literature.
• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• Experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum is desirable.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
