Entry-Level Driver (Permanent)

About the role

The Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) is recruiting two drivers for its Corporate Services Directorate in Nairobi. The Authority coordinates and harmonizes education, training, assessment and quality assurance of qualifications in Kenya and maintains the Kenya National Qualifications Database. The position is permanent, Grade 9, with a salary scale of KES 30,531 to 40,278 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure work tickets are duly signed and authorized, and keep them up to date
• Carry out routine checks of the vehicle before each journey
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle
• Drive safely within the specified speed limits and ensure the safety of the vehicle, passengers and goods
• Carry out minor repairs and ensure regular servicing according to the manufacturer's schedule
• Keep the vehicle insured and in good working condition, report mechanical or accident problems, and submit regular reports on the assigned vehicle

Required profile

• KCSE mean grade D+ from a recognized institution
• Occupational Trade Test II/III for drivers
• Valid driving licence free from current endorsements
• Defensive driving certificate from a recognized institution
• Suitability test passed by the Ministry of Roads and Public Works
• First-aid certificate course of at least one week
• Certificate of good conduct
• Computer literacy

What we offer

• Salary scale of KES 30,531 to 40,278 per month
• House allowance of KES 6,750 per month
• Commuter allowance of KES 4,000 per month
• 30 days leave per financial year
