Executive Chef

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Executive Chef for its Thika Road location in the hospitality industry. The role covers kitchen operations, menu development, food cost and inventory control, team leadership, food safety and banquets and conference catering.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations and maintain high standards of food quality, taste, presentation and portioning
• Coordinate kitchen production during high-volume periods, conferences, banquets and special events
• Develop and update menus and maintain standardized recipes and portion sizes
• Control food costs, monitor waste and stock movement, and manage inventory with Finance and Procurement
• Lead, train and mentor the culinary team and build a disciplined kitchen culture
• Ensure HACCP and food safety compliance, including inspections and records
• Plan food production for conferences, banquets, weddings and other large events

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Food Production, Hospitality Management or a related field
• 8+ years in professional kitchens, including at least 3 years as Executive Chef or Head Chef
• Proven experience in high-volume hotel, banquet, conference or full-service hospitality operations
• HACCP/Food Safety certification required
