Executive Pastry Chef – Artisan Breads & Premium Bakery

About the role

The Social House is looking for an Executive Pastry Chef to lead its pastry and bakery operation, with a focus on turning The Living Room into a destination for exceptional pastries and artisan breads.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the entire pastry and bakery operation, ensuring high standards of quality, taste, texture, presentation and consistency.
• Develop a distinctive French‑inspired pâtisserie offering, including signature croissants, viennoiserie, artisan breads, cakes, tarts, entremets, petits gâteaux and chocolate products.
• Create seasonal collections, festive ranges and limited‑edition concepts while monitoring ingredient usage, wastage and food cost discipline.
• Build and maintain production systems, standard recipes, yields, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Partner with procurement, executive chef, commercial and marketing teams to align product development with guest expectations and revenue goals.
• Lead, coach and develop the pastry team, transferring technical capability and ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a pastry and bakery operation, preferably in a high‑end hospitality environment.
• Strong culinary creativity with the ability to blend classic French techniques with contemporary, locally relevant flavours.
• Excellent leadership, coaching and team‑development skills.
• Detail‑oriented mindset focused on consistency, cost control and operational discipline.

Required skills

• Advanced French pastry techniques (croissants, laminated pastries, viennoiserie, entremets, etc.).
• Recipe development and standardisation.
• Production planning, inventory management and food cost control.
• Food safety and hygiene compliance.
