Family Strengthening and Early Childhood Development Advisor

About the role

The Family Strengthening and Early Childhood Development Advisor will provide technical guidance and support to ensure effective family‑based case management, child protection, and early childhood development interventions across project areas in Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on family‑based case management, family strengthening, prevention of child‑family separation, reintegration and alternative care pathways.
• Apply the Nurturing Care Framework to deliver iECD approaches covering health, nutrition, responsive caregiving, early learning, safety and caregiver well‑being.
• Support assessment, case planning, referral, documentation and case closure for families at risk of separation and alternative care arrangements.
• Build capacity of partners and staff on residential care transition, alternative care standards and family‑based care pathways.
• Develop and adapt training curricula, job aids, coaching tools and practical guidance for health, social service, education and community actors.
• Document lessons learned and contribute to donor reports, briefs and learning products.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum eight years of relevant work experience, including managing multiple departmental projects.
• Experience working with government, civil society, faith‑based or community actors.
• Proven ability to apply technical knowledge, standards and evidence to program implementation.
• Experience in facilitation, coaching, training and capacity strengthening.
