Farm Manager – Mixed Livestock & Crop Operations

About the role

Our client, a newly established high‑end resort in Timau, Meru, is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee mixed livestock and crop operations. You will be responsible for driving productivity, ensuring animal welfare, and delivering high‑quality produce for the resort’s market.

Key responsibilities

• Manage dairy cows, sheep, goats and a variety of vegetables and fruits.
• Develop and implement strategies to maximise yield and profitability.
• Organise farm administration, budgeting and staff management.
• Source and purchase inputs such as seeds, fertilizers and pesticides.
• Monitor animal health, liaise with government veterinarians and apply health‑safety standards.
• Conduct soil and water testing, oversee pest‑disease control, and ensure regular restocking of supplies.
• Handle marketing, sales and distribution of farm products including meat, eggs and produce.
• Perform artificial insemination, fodder production and preservation.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science, Animal Science or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience managing mixed farming operations.
• Passion for agriculture and dairy animal care.
• Strong analytical, budgeting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
