Field Debt Collection Agent

About the role

The Field Debt Collection Agent will conduct on‑site visits to clients within an assigned portfolio, recover overdue payments, negotiate repayment arrangements, and keep accurate records of all interactions. This role requires strong communication, independence, and the ability to travel extensively across Westlands and the greater Nairobi area.

Key responsibilities

• Visit clients in the field to follow up on overdue accounts.
• Collect outstanding payments and negotiate suitable repayment plans.
• Maintain detailed records of visits, payments, promises to pay, and customer information.
• Submit daily or weekly collection reports to the supervisor.
• Locate customers who have changed contact details or addresses.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
• Adhere to company policies, legal requirements, and ethical debt‑collection practices.
• Achieve assigned collection targets and performance goals.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidates with up to 24 months of relevant experience.
• Ability to travel extensively and work independently.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Persistence, patience, and professionalism under pressure.
