Field Officer (FO) – Maikona

About the role

The Boma Project is hiring three Field Officers to support the SOIL programme in Marsabit County, Kenya. Reporting to the SOIL Program Manager, the Field Officer will provide technical leadership, planning and supervision to ensure activities are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Mentors and lead participant targeting activities.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor programme implementation.
• Strengthen Mentor capacity and deliver technical training to participants.
• Facilitate market and financial linkages for beneficiaries.
• Use technology tools and programme data to track progress and inform adaptive management.
• Ensure quality monitoring data collection and reporting.
• Coordinate with community leaders, government officials, market actors and sub‑grantees.
• Oversee safeguarding, male engagement, accountability and resolve implementation challenges.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Economics, Community Health & Nutrition, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Social Sciences or related field.
• Professional or postgraduate training in livelihoods, economic inclusion, nutrition, agriculture, climate resilience or market systems is an advantage.
• Training or certification in Training of Trainers (ToT), adult learning, facilitation or community‑based programming is highly desirable.
• 4–5 years of experience in programme or project implementation, preferably in livelihoods, economic inclusion, food & nutrition security, agriculture/livestock or resilience programming.
• Proven experience supervising field teams or mentors and designing/delivering technical training.
