Finance Intern (Accounts Payable & Admin Support)

About the role

A multinational logistics company, recruited through Stratostaff East Africa, is looking for a finance intern in Nairobi for a three-month placement. The intern maintains accounts payable transactions and supports the administration requirements of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Quality assurance: comply with relevant finance and general standard operating procedures
• Assist in internal and external audits
• Consumables management
• Purchase orders capture, invoice capturing and matching
• Payments posting, supplier payments, supplier statement reconciliation, statutory compliance and returns, bank reconciliations, and client billing and invoicing
• Participate in implementing departmental and site environmental management system objectives

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Administration or Business Management
• Preferred: semi-qualified accountant (CPAK/ACCA)
• Prior experience in a freight forwarding company is an added advantage
