Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will manage day‑to‑day financial and accounting operations for a real‑estate company, ensuring accurate records, statutory compliance and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Record sales transactions, invoices, payroll deductions and petty cash in QuickBooks and reconcile accounts.
• Handle client cancellations, apply deduction policy, issue refunds and update CRM records.
• Track income from land plot sales, instalment payments and support site‑specific budgeting for developments.
• Prepare annual and project‑specific budgets, monitor cash flow and support financial planning for land purchases.
• Reconcile bank accounts, tills and M‑Pay Biz (Paybill/Till) transactions.
• Process monthly payroll, allowances, commissions and statutory submissions (PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, housing levy).
• Track project‑specific expenses, verify contractor payments and coordinate with procurement.
• Prepare monthly income‑vs‑expense reports, highlight profitability trends and support cash‑burn forecasts.
• Organise financial records for internal and external audits and assist with tax clearance documentation.
• Maintain data in QuickBooks, Zoho or Excel and support finance system migrations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• CPA Part II (or higher) mandatory; full CPA(K) or ACCA an advantage.
• 2–3 years of hands‑on accounting experience, preferably in real‑estate/property management.
• Practical experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and iTax processes.
• Experience in payroll processing and statutory filing.
