Finance Officer

About the role

Kenya Medical Training College is recruiting a Finance Officer based in Westlands, Nairobi. The officer implements financial regulations, policies, strategies and plans, maintains the college's financial records and prepares reports and payments.

Key responsibilities

• Implement financial regulations, policies, strategies and plans, and implement budgetary and cost controls
• Maintain books of account and financial records, and keep an accurate and complete financial record of the college
• Implement internal financial controls
• Prepare financial reports and statements and submit them to relevant institutions
• Prepare payment vouchers and manage the petty cash
• Participate in collating financial estimates and determining aggregate expenditure
• Maintain records relating to government grants and other donor funds
• Prepare management and statutory reports, including final accounts
• Maintain records of statutory deductions and remittances
• Participate in revenue collection processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance option), Finance, Economics, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance option) or Business Management (Accounting/Finance option), or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution
• Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution
