Fleet Management Assistant II

About the role

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is recruiting a Fleet Management Assistant II (Grade IPOA 11) within its Human Resource and Administration Directorate, Administration department, based at the headquarters in Nairobi. The cadre is responsible for the efficient coordination of transport services in the Authority, reporting to the Senior Assistant Director, Administration. The consolidated salary is KES 53,000 to 83,000.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of policies, strategies, standards and procedures for efficient management of transport services.
• Maintain inventory of vehicle consumables including fuel.
• Implement efficient driver schedules to maximise resource use.
• Monitor the cleanliness of all vehicles.
• Coordinate the vehicle pool.
• Monitor the security and safety of vehicles on and off the road.
• Update all records relating to transport services.
• Consolidate data for reports on transport services as appropriate.
• Implement risk mitigation measures.
• Develop and implement individual work plans.

Required profile

• Technician course certificate of at least one year in transport/fleet management, automotive engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
• Valid driving licence, free from any current endorsement, for the class(es) of vehicle(s) the officer is required to drive.
• Passed the practical test for drivers conducted by the AA or the relevant government ministry or department.

Required skills

• Proficiency in computer applications.
