Forensic & Financial Crime Risk Management Lead (Kenya)

About the role

KPMG is seeking a senior professional to lead its Forensic and Financial Crime Risk Management practice across East Africa. Based in Nairobi, you will guide complex AML/CFT/PF, fraud risk, and forensic engagements for banks, insurers, fintechs, SACCOs, public institutions and regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of AML/CFT/PF audits, compliance reviews, risk assessments, sanctions and customer due‑diligence reviews.
• Advise clients on designing, implementing and enhancing AML/CFT/PF frameworks, governance structures and control environments.
• Assess exposure to money‑laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing and broader financial‑crime risks.
• Develop remediation strategies to address regulatory, governance, process, system and control deficiencies.
• Lead fraud risk assessments, prevention framework reviews, investigations and whistle‑blower reviews.
• Maintain high technical quality across all engagements and mentor high‑performing teams.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in forensic, AML/CFT/PF or financial‑crime risk management.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to deliver client‑focused solutions.
• Experience working with banks, insurance companies, fintechs, SACCOs, development organisations or public‑sector entities.
• Excellent communication skills for senior client and regulator interactions.
