Forensic Investigator

About the role

The Forensic Investigator will lead investigations into suspected fraud, waste, abuse, bribery, corruption and financial misconduct for Britam Life Assurance Company (Kenya) Limited. The role involves interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, analysing documentation and supporting prosecution and recovery efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end investigations, collect system audit logs, physical evidence and maintain chain of custody.
• Compile comprehensive, legally defensible reports with loss estimates, root‑cause analysis and remediation recommendations.
• Prepare criminal referrals, support civil and regulatory proceedings and work with law enforcement on asset tracing.
• Conduct proactive fraud‑risk reviews, monitor emerging fraud trends and deliver anti‑fraud awareness programmes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
• At least three years’ experience in fraud, claims, audit or law‑enforcement investigations; insurance or financial‑services exposure is an advantage.
• Progress toward CFE certification or similar qualification is desirable.

Required skills

• Investigative techniques and evidence handling.
• Use of forensic tools and computer applications.
• Knowledge of data protection, evidence handling and prosecution processes.
