Front Office Trainee

About the role

The Front Office Trainee will join Kempinski Hotels in Nairobi to learn the core operations of the front desk. Working under the Training Manager and departmental trainer, you will develop the skills needed to deliver the Kempinski Experience Assessment standards.

Key responsibilities

• Check‑in arriving guests and check‑out departing guests in a friendly, caring manner, following KEA standards.
• Register guests, assign rooms, accommodate special requests, and use suggestive selling techniques to promote hotel services.
• Verify payment methods, follow credit‑checking procedures, and handle cash transactions, including foreign currency exchange.
• Process guest check‑out, settle accounts, issue invoices, and manage last‑minute charges.
• Answer guest inquiries by phone or in person, provide information, and refer issues to appropriate departments.
• Coordinate room status updates with housekeeping, including late check‑outs and early check‑ins.
• Maintain knowledge of product and service offerings and keep the work area neat.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Hospitality/Hotel Management from a recognized institution (completed coursework acceptable).
• Kenyan citizenship.
• No prior work experience required; less than one year since graduation (2025/2026).
• Ability to work in a multinational environment with excellent grooming and professional etiquette.
• Good communication skills and a positive learning attitude.
