Full‑Time Waiter/Waitress – Upscale Restaurant in Nairobi

About the role

The Lord Erroll Gourmet Restaurant is seeking enthusiastic waiters and waitresses to join its full‑time team in Nairobi. You will be the first point of contact for guests, presenting menus, answering questions and delivering a high‑standard dining experience in an elegant colonial‑style setting.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, present menus and provide recommendations.
• Take accurate orders and coordinate with kitchen and bar staff.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and ensure tables are properly set.
• Handle billing, payments and maintain accurate records.
• Observe health and safety standards throughout service.
• Respond quickly to guest requests or concerns.
• Assist with preparation for events, conferences and large bookings.
• Support opening and closing duties and keep the dining area clean and organized.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with a professional attitude.
• Good knowledge of food and beverage offerings and service etiquette.
• Clear, courteous communication skills for interacting with guests and team members.
• Basic understanding of cooking or food‑preparation processes (advantageous).
• Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment preferred.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, carry trays and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Attention to detail, reliability and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced setting.
• Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
