Gender and Inclusion Caseworker

About the role

The Gender and Inclusion Caseworker will lead the GBV case management and child protection components for communities in Kibera/Mathare. Reporting to the Gender and Inclusion Program Officer, the role ensures timely support, monitoring and referral for survivors of gender‑based violence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments, gather psychosocial information and register new cases in the database.
• Maintain comprehensive case files and perform regular follow‑ups to monitor progress.
• Provide basic counselling, coordinate medical examinations, and liaise with police or legal authorities to secure perpetrator accountability.
• Identify children at risk, refer them to appropriate services, and ensure protection measures are in place.
• Deliver community awareness campaigns, door‑to‑door sensitisation, school sessions on children’s rights, life‑planning, SRH and gender issues.
• Build partnerships with GBV partners, health and legal service providers, and map referral pathways.
• Develop individual case management plans, oversee legal prosecution where needed, and ensure confidentiality and “do no harm” principles.
• Lead the SUN Gender desk, train SUN gender champions and community volunteers.

Required profile

• Diploma in Social Sciences, Social Work, Gender Studies or a related field.
• Additional training in child protection work.
• Experience in case management, GBV response or community outreach is preferred.
