General Manager (Construction) – East Africa

About the role

The General Manager will lead the Electrical Solutions and Construction & Interior Fit‑Out divisions in Kenya, driving strategic growth, profitability and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business plans, identify market opportunities and forge strategic partnerships.
• Oversee tendering, cost estimation, bid preparation, contract negotiations and financial forecasting.
• Manage project planning, execution and delivery across electrical and construction portfolios, ensuring budget, schedule and quality compliance.
• Lead procurement, supply chain and logistics to secure timely material availability and cost efficiency.
• Provide people leadership, performance management, training and succession planning for multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety and quality standards while managing risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; additional qualifications in Construction Management or Business Administration preferred.
• Minimum 10 years senior management experience in electrical projects, construction and interior fit‑out.
• Proven track record managing large commercial, industrial or government projects.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control and cash‑flow management.
