General Manager – Corporate Services

About the role

The General Manager – Corporate Services will lead strategic corporate administration for Kenya Railways, overseeing HR, insurance, administration and ICT functions. This contract role is based in Nairobi and requires extensive senior management experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and implement policies, plans and strategies across Human Resources, Insurance, Administration and ICT.
• Provide leadership for talent management, employee relations, occupational health and safety, and performance‑based culture.
• Design organisational structures and business processes to improve efficiency and drive innovation, including automation.
• Oversee technology‑related services, fleet management, asset management and procurement planning.
• Lead risk management, internal controls, business continuity and corporate governance initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field from a reputable institution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Public Administration, HR Management, ICT, Social Sciences or equivalent.
• At least 15 years of work experience, with 5 years in senior management within a state corporation or comparable organisation.
• Relevant professional qualification and membership of a recognised professional body.
• Certificate in Strategic Leadership (minimum four weeks) and a valid practising certificate.
