Graduate Assistant – Law (Fixed‑Term)

About the role
The Graduate Assistant in Law will support legal research, teaching and academic instruction at Kabarak University. This is a two‑year fixed‑term contract based in Nakuru, Kenya, requiring a qualified law degree and admission to the Bar.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake research on constitutional law, governance, human rights, dispute resolution and legal theory.
- Assist in preparing law journal articles, book chapters, conference papers and legal policy briefs.
- Conduct legal literature reviews, case law, legislative, comparative and policy analysis.
- Identify, organise and analyse legal research materials.
- Assist in preparing research grant proposals, project reports and scholarly documentation.
- Perform any other duty assigned by supervisors.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognised university.
- Admission to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
- A Master’s degree in Law or ongoing postgraduate legal studies (advantageous).
Required skills
- Legal research proficiency.
- Analytical skills for case and policy analysis.
