About the role

Tropical Heat Ltd is seeking a recent graduate to join its Commercial & Data team in Nairobi. The role supports data‑driven decision making across the company’s retail and FMCG operations.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, process and transform large datasets to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Assist in developing and testing statistical models, predictive algorithms and machine‑learning prototypes under senior guidance.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI or Looker to communicate key metrics.
• Document data processes, models and code for transparency and reproducibility.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate on solving business problems with data.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled or graduated within the last 12 months with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• Strong foundational knowledge of statistical analysis and data‑modelling principles.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail and clear communication skills.

Required skills

• SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Data‑visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker.
• Statistical analysis and data modelling.
• Machine‑learning prototype development.
