Ground Operations Ramp Staff

About the role

ALS Limited is seeking an experienced Ground Operations Ramp Staff member to oversee airside ramp activities at its Nairobi facility. You will ensure safe, efficient aircraft turnaround while leading a team of ramp personnel and managing ground support equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all airside ramp operations to guarantee timely aircraft turnaround.
• Lead, schedule, and optimise ramp staff, equipment, and shift patterns for maximum productivity.
• Monitor safety‑critical and quality‑critical activities, ensuring compliance with company standards and aviation regulations.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy working environment in line with regulatory requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture by instructing personnel on operational hazards and ramp safety practices.
• Prevent aircraft damage, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) incidents, and other operational risks; report and investigate accidents promptly.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, aviation regulations, and local operating procedures.
• Supervise aircraft marshalling, loading and unloading operations, and the safe use of ground support equipment (GSE).

Required profile

• Minimum High School Certificate (O‑Level or equivalent).
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
• At least two years of relevant experience in aviation ramp operations.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, especially under pressure.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
