Head Barista

About the role

Peponi's is looking for a Head Barista to lead and expand its coffee program in Nairobi. This full‑time, on‑site position will shape the coffee menu, ensure premium beverage quality, and deliver a memorable experience for every guest.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso‑based and specialty coffee drinks to high standards.
• Operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines and all coffee brewing equipment.
• Develop, test, and refine the coffee menu in line with brand standards.
• Manage coffee inventory, place orders, and maintain supplier relationships.
• Train and mentor kitchen and front‑of‑house staff on coffee preparation techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness of the coffee station and uphold food‑and‑beverage safety standards.
• Collaborate closely with kitchen and front‑of‑house teams to ensure seamless service.
• Promote Peponi's coffee offerings to guests and enhance overall guest satisfaction.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior barista or coffee‑program leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of coffee brewing methods and espresso extraction.
• Ability to manage inventory and supplier relationships effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
