Head, Corporate Sales (General Business)

About the role

Liberty Life Assurance Kenya, part of Liberty Group, a wealth management company active in 17 African countries, is looking for a Head of Corporate Sales (General Business). The role holder directs, coordinates and grows the Corporate Business portfolio by turning new opportunities into business, improving customer retention, strengthening intermediary relationships and driving sustainable revenue growth, while keeping costs under control.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales, distribution and business development strategies aligned with business objectives, growth plans and budgeted targets, and review their effectiveness regularly.
• Drive new business acquisition, customer retention and portfolio growth through brokers, intermediaries and direct channels, including cross-selling and leveraging Group synergies.
• Lead, manage and coach the corporate sales team: set targets, monitor performance, develop staff capability and ensure productivity and retention.
• Improve sales processes, policies and procedures for efficiency, effectiveness and compliance.
• Build relationships with clients, brokers, intermediaries, competitors and other stakeholders.
• Manage the sales pipeline, leads and market opportunities, using market research and business intelligence to convert leads into sales.
• Monitor revenue, productivity, retention and costs against approved targets and budgets, and lead the annual sales budgeting and planning process.
• Report to Senior Management with timely, accurate business insights and advice on key development issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Marketing or another business-related discipline.
• Diploma in Insurance (ACII or AIIK).
• Member of CII or IIK.
• 10 years' experience in the insurance industry, 5 of which in senior management.
