Head of Accountability & Transparency Unit (ATU)

About the role

MSF Eastern Africa is seeking a senior professional to lead its Accountability & Transparency Unit (ATU). The role is central to ensuring that MSF’s operations remain accountable, transparent, and safe for patients, communities, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the ATU and develop strategies that promote accountability and transparency across all programmes.
• Oversee safeguarding measures to protect patients, community members, staff and any other persons in contact with MSF from abuse, including sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH).
• Implement rigorous vetting processes to prevent confirmed perpetrators of abuse from joining the organisation.
• Maintain the classification of contact with patients and children as low‑risk and ensure compliance with related policies.
• Foster a safe, diverse and inclusive workplace in line with MSF’s values.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to safeguarding and SEAH prevention.
• Experience in leading accountability, transparency or related programmes in humanitarian or non‑profit settings.
• Ability to work in a diverse, inclusive environment and to engage with staff at all levels.
