Head of Clinical Services & Governance

About the role

Valley Hospital, a Level 4 healthcare facility in Nakuru, is looking for a Head of Clinical Services & Governance to lead the Clinical Services Department and drive strategic clinical governance across all medical units.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for the Clinical Services Department, ensuring safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
• Develop and strengthen clinical governance frameworks, aligning them with the hospital’s vision for excellence.
• Oversee quality improvement initiatives, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to promote innovation in service delivery.
• Interpret healthcare regulations and quality standards to guide clinical practice.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB); business certification is an advantage.
• Minimum 7 years of healthcare experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within a similar‑sized institution.
• Proven experience in clinical operations, governance, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Deep understanding of risk management, patient safety, and healthcare regulations.
