Head of Impact

About the role

The Head of Impact will design and own ALG’s impact methodology, building the evidence and trust architecture needed for credible impact claims as the organization scales.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain impact methodology, including data collection, verification, sampling, extrapolation, and attribution.
• Lead rigorous research and external validation efforts, designing RCTs, quasi‑experimental studies, tracer studies and longitudinal research.
• Partner with data, product, engineering, learning, community and operations teams to embed impact measurement across the learner journey and build audit‑ready data pipelines.
• Create donor‑facing and public‑facing collateral that explains evidence standards, methodology and impact outcomes.
• Build and lead the Impact Team, establishing operating rhythms, culture and capabilities in impact evaluation and analytics.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in impact evaluation, applied research, economics, workforce development or related fields.
• Proven expertise in rigorous impact methodologies such as RCTs, quasi‑experimental designs, causal inference and longitudinal studies.
• Strong data fluency and experience working with dashboards, data pipelines, CRM systems and survey platforms.
• Excellent judgment on evidence quality and ability to translate complex research into clear donor and public materials.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams in fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environments.
