Head of Maintenance (Live‑in)

About the role

The Maintenance Head will lead all technical and facilities operations at &Beyond Suyian Lodge, ensuring a safe, sustainable, and guest‑focused environment. This permanent live‑in position requires hands‑on leadership, coordination of staff and contractors, and proactive problem solving.

Key responsibilities

• Assign and monitor daily tasks for mechanics and maintenance staff, conducting briefings on priorities.
• Inspect lodge facilities, including water treatment, generators, solar system, HVAC, and electrical panels.
• Oversee urgent repairs such as plumbing leaks and electrical faults, ensuring rapid resolution.
• Coordinate subcontractors, schedule work, provide site access, and verify quality of completed tasks.
• Monitor fuel and gas levels for generators, vehicles, and bulk tanks; maintain stock of tools and consumables.
• Maintain accurate logs of work performed, equipment usage, and daily recordings.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of maintenance systems (electrical, plumbing, solar, HVAC).
• Proven ability to lead and supervise a maintenance team.
• Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Commitment to sustainability and safety standards.
• Valid driver’s licence.
