Head of Marketing

About the role

The Head of Marketing will lead Pwani Oil’s marketing function, shaping strategy across traditional trade, modern trade and export channels. Reporting to senior leadership, the role is responsible for building brand equity, driving growth and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies for domestic and export markets.
• Conduct market research, consumer insight analysis and competitive intelligence to uncover growth opportunities.
• Lead product launches, branding initiatives and promotional campaigns, including the new cosmetics line.
• Manage digital marketing, media buying and communications to maximise brand visibility and ROI.
• Oversee the marketing budget, using data‑driven insights to optimise performance.
• Collaborate with Sales, R&D, Operations and other functions to ensure cross‑functional alignment.
• Build and nurture relationships with customers, distributors, partners, media and key stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing marketing team.
• Represent the company externally and enhance corporate reputation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Membership with the MSK.
• Minimum 15 years of senior commercial leadership experience in FMCG or related industry, covering traditional markets, modern trade, export and marketing.
• Demonstrated success in brand growth and market‑share expansion.
• Proven ability to lead marketing teams and drive results in consumer goods.
