Head of Quality – Aircraft Maintenance Organization

About the role

The AMO Head of Quality leads the quality management system for Africa Inland Mission’s aviation ministry, ensuring all maintenance activities meet Kenyan civil aviation regulations and internal standards. The role reports to the AIM AIR General Manager and supervises the Assistant Head of Quality and internal auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the AMO Quality Management System, coordinate internal and external audits, and manage corrective action plans.
• Liaise with the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority on approvals, surveillance audits, and certification renewals.
• Review and maintain AMO manuals, the Quality Manual, and ensure compliance with civil aviation regulations and manufacturer instructions.
• Manage the quality feedback system, respond to external audit findings, and support shop output quality reviews.

Required profile

• Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AMEL) or a degree/diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.
• Minimum seven years of aviation maintenance experience, including at least three years in a quality function.
• Excellent verbal communication in English and Kiswahili and strong written English skills.
• God‑fearing, trustworthy, and able to work independently across multicultural teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and risk analysis.
• Understanding of civil aviation regulations and aircraft maintenance standards.
