Head of Supply Chain

About the role

The Head of Supply Chain – Africa provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for end‑to‑end supply chain operations across the African continent, bridging regional and global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑create and implement the EMEA‑LATAM and Africa network supply chain strategy and a unified Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) framework.
• Oversee multi‑modal freight, warehousing and regional distribution centres, driving process optimisation across order management, demand planning and distribution.
• Implement a customer‑centric care model and digital strategy (e‑ordering, predictive tracking, inventory management) to enhance real‑time pipeline visibility.
• Negotiate and manage 3PL/4PL partnerships, freight forwarders and clearing agents to ensure reliable, cost‑effective product access.
• Partner with regulatory and quality teams to enforce GxP, Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and cold‑chain compliance, and develop business continuity plans.
• Build, coach and empower a high‑performing supply chain team, supporting the setup of new legal entities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years senior supply chain leadership experience in regional operations.
• Background in diagnostics or medical devices with deep knowledge of African healthcare markets.
• Proven expertise in cold‑chain management, GxP/GDP compliance and 3PL/4PL governance.
• Strong track record in transformation projects, digital platform implementation and stakeholder alignment.
• Professional fluency in English; French proficiency is advantageous.
