Hotel Porter

About the role

The Hotel Porter will be the first point of contact for guests arriving at the property in Westlands, Nairobi. You will ensure a smooth and welcoming experience by handling luggage, providing assistance, and maintaining the lobby area.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests and assist with the handling of their luggage.
• Transport luggage to and from guest rooms efficiently and safely.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the lobby and luggage storage areas.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and front‑desk teams to ensure timely delivery of luggage.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and provide courteous service.
• Work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
• Ensure the security of guests’ belongings and report any issues.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 24 months (2 years) experience in a similar role such as Hotel Porter or Bell Attendant.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional grooming and presentation.
• Physically fit and able to handle heavy luggage.
• Customer‑focused attitude with the ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
