HR Assistant

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking an HR Assistant to support field‑office HR operations. You will work closely with recruiters, HR officers and field staff to ensure smooth recruitment, onboarding, payroll and personnel administration.

Key responsibilities

• Assist recruiters with vacancy posting, candidate contact, interview pack preparation and reference checks.
• Maintain recruitment trackers, incentive staff files and support localized refugee recruitment.
• Ensure new staff are enrolled in payroll and benefits, manage staff files, and monitor induction, performance objectives and probation reviews.
• Track expiry of incentive staff LOUs, help prepare contracts/LOUs for new or renewing staff.
• Keep up‑to‑date records for personnel files, leave, training, performance, benefits and payroll; archive files timely.
• Support monthly timesheet submission and incentive/refugee staff payroll processing.
• Maintain HR supplies and assist with Workday HRIS data entry and reporting.
• Provide weekly/monthly status reports on personnel files, leave, training, performance, benefits and payroll.
• Facilitate staff training requests approved in the annual L&D plan.

Required profile

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple HR administrative tasks.
• Familiarity with HR policies, recruitment processes and payroll administration.
• Attention to detail for maintaining accurate personnel records and contracts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with recruiters, HR officers and field staff.
