Human Resources Associate – Nairobi

About the role

The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue seeks a Human Resources Associate to provide day‑to‑day HR support for employees, managers and external consultants in Nairobi. You will help ensure a smooth employee experience across the full lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to learning, development and off‑boarding.

Key responsibilities

• Support onboarding, induction and off‑boarding processes, including documentation and formalities.
• Provide first‑level assistance on HR administrative matters and manage employment and consultancy contracts.
• Assist with work and residence permit procedures.
• Prepare and publish job descriptions, coordinate interviews, tests and candidate communications.
• Maintain recruitment data and reporting.
• Keep employee and consultant data up‑to‑date in the HRIS and support payroll preparation.
• Assist with salary allocations, variable pay information and invoice validation.
• Support performance appraisal, training needs analysis and budget monitoring.
• Contribute to improving HR processes, tools, documentation and internal communications.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in HR administration or a similar support role, preferably in an international or multicultural setting.
• A degree or professional qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Good knowledge of HR processes and a strong interest in developing HR expertise.

Required skills

• HRIS (Human Resources Information System) proficiency
