Humanitarian Action Advisor (CPiHA)

About the role

The Humanitarian Action Advisor (CPiHA) will ensure that child protection is systematically integrated into SOS Children’s Villages humanitarian programmes. Working within the Disaster Preparedness & Technical Support unit, the advisor will provide senior technical leadership to Member Associations and partners across the project cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate child protection standards into all humanitarian interventions and proposals.
• Provide technical guidance and quality assurance from design to implementation and monitoring.
• Support the development of funding proposals and coordinate multiple humanitarian funding streams.
• Build the capacity of Member Associations to deliver inclusive, child‑centered and gender‑responsive programmes.
• Facilitate disaster preparedness, recovery planning and the pre‑positioning of innovative approaches.
• Promote the humanitarian‑development‑peace nexus by linking short‑term lifesaving actions with long‑term recovery.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in humanitarian programming, preferably with a focus on child protection.
• Proven ability to work with national offices, NGOs and donor partners in complex emergency settings.
• Strong understanding of SOS Children’s Villages humanitarian policy and international protection standards.
• Excellent analytical, coordination and communication skills.
