ICT Technician – CCTV & Network Support

About the role

The ICT Technician will provide specialist support for CCTV and network infrastructure, ensuring reliable video surveillance operations for clients. This role combines hands‑on installation, configuration, and remote troubleshooting of surveillance equipment with general ICT assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems including IP cameras, NVRs and DVRs.
• Administer VMS platforms, handling device management, live view/playback issues, user permissions and system upgrades.
• Configure and manage IP SAN storage servers, RAID arrays, recording schedules and retention policies.
• Perform remote NVR diagnostics via DDNS, port forwarding and P2P, resolving offline devices and firmware mismatches.
• Configure LAN/WAN environments supporting surveillance – IP addressing, subnetting, switches, routers, PoE, VLANs and bandwidth management.
• Provide first‑ and second‑line ICT support for workstations, structured cabling, Wi‑Fi access points and servers.
• Maintain accurate documentation of site configurations, IP schemas, job cards and service reports.
• Communicate technical issues clearly to non‑technical clients and follow up to closure.

Required profile

• Diploma in ICT, IT, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering (KNEC/TVET accredited).
• Minimum KCSE grade of C‑ or above.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with CCTV installation and support.
• Strong knowledge of video monitoring software and IP networking fundamentals.
• Ability to read site drawings and perform structured cabling to standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
