Impact Manager – Africa

About the role

The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet is seeking an Impact Manager for its Africa portfolio. In this full‑time position you will help measure and communicate the Alliance’s contribution to clean energy access, climate mitigation and job creation across the continent.

Key responsibilities

• Provide backend data quality assurance for all Africa‑based transactions and ensure robust monitoring data.
• Advise program teams on target setting, indicator selection, theory of change and causal pathways.
• Onboard and train staff on results‑monitoring tools and ensure compliance with the Impact framework.
• Source, manage and coordinate independent evaluation partners in collaboration with the Director of Evaluation.
• Identify evaluation needs, design appropriate evaluation approaches and review evaluation tools for relevance and rigor.
• Support learning activities by capturing insights, facilitating reflection sessions and disseminating lessons across the organization.

Required profile

• Proven experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) within international development or energy sectors.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills for training and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work autonomously in a start‑up environment while collaborating across multiple teams.
