Individual Consultant – Data Interpretation & Utilization (14 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an individual consultant to support the Global Education Practice’s FinDEALS team in Nairobi. The consultant will work remotely for a 14‑month assignment, with occasional travel to Kenya, to help interpret and utilise education data for policy and programme decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse education‑related data sets to generate evidence for financing, assessment and learning outcomes.
• Develop data visualisations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Support the integration of data into UNICEF’s knowledge management and monitoring frameworks.
• Provide technical guidance on data interpretation to country teams and partners.
• Contribute to reports and policy briefs that inform education strategies.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in education, economics, statistics, data science or a related field.
• Proven experience in data analysis within the education sector, preferably in international development.
• Strong understanding of education financing, assessment and learning metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
