IT Officer

About the role

We are looking for an IT Officer to oversee and support the technology infrastructure at our Container Freight Station in Mombasa. The role involves ensuring reliable network connectivity, maintaining hardware and software assets, and safeguarding the system against security threats.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the CFS IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations and network devices.
• Provide first‑line support to end‑users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues promptly.
• Perform regular system upgrades, patches and backups to maintain optimal performance.
• Implement and enforce IT security policies, conduct vulnerability assessments and respond to incidents.
• Coordinate with logistics teams to align technology solutions with operational needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience in IT support or administration, preferably within logistics or a similar industry.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or Cisco CCNA.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and take a proactive approach to IT management.
