Interface Developer Intern

About the role

Blue Oak Consulting is seeking an Interface Developer Intern to help build digital front‑ends for proprietary financial analysis tools. The position is fully remote and works closely with principals and analysts to turn complex spreadsheet models into interactive web interfaces that support decision‑making for a Nairobi‑based financial services client.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain user interfaces for internal financial modeling applications using modern web technologies.
• Collaborate with analysts to understand pricing data, portfolio economics, and user interaction requirements.
• Convert static financial models into interactive prototypes that enable real‑time sensitivity testing.
• Clean and structure data to ensure accurate display across interface components.
• Assist in creating dashboards that monitor capital allocation and value leakage for clients.
• Prioritize utility and logical flow over visual embellishment, ensuring tools remain focused on functionality.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or related field).
• Strong interest in financial services and data‑driven decision tools.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly through written updates and video calls.
