IT Project Manager - Finance Systems Transformation (Business Central)
Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) · Nairobi
Job description
About the role
GAIN is recruiting an IT Project Manager for its Finance Systems Transformation (Business Central) project, which manages the implementation of a cloud-based finance management system that improves financial processes and brings programme, grant and entity information together. The role is on a 12-month fixed-term contract, subject to funding availability, based in Nairobi, Kenya, and closes on 6 November 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the migration from Microsoft Dynamics NAV 14, Vena and SharePoint to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, aiming for a go-live on 1 July 2027.
- Bring Finance, IT and business users together to map processes and turn requirements into improvements to workflows, reporting and automation.
- Coordinate cleansing, migration and validation of more than ten years of transactional data, with accountable owners reconciling results and resolving discrepancies.
- Coordinate integrations with enterprise systems such as Salesforce, aligning requirements, technical dependencies and testing with consultants, developers and architects.
- Organise user acceptance testing, track defects to resolution, coordinate cutover and go-live readiness, and secure acceptance decisions from owners.
- Prepare users through communication, training and super-user support, and arrange documentation, handover and post-go-live support.
- Manage day-to-day coordination with the implementation partner and GAIN teams, tracking deliverables and escalating obstacles.
- Maintain the project plan and budget, manage risks and dependencies, and report progress to project leadership.
Required profile
- Strong record of delivering finance-system migrations or ERP implementations, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, with practical knowledge of migrating from Dynamics NAV.
- Experience spanning data cleansing and migration, systems integration, testing and deployment, with external partners and internal teams.
- Understanding of the finance, budgeting, grants and reporting needs of non-profit organisations, with projects across multiple countries or entities.
- Able to connect finance and technical teams and secure action from colleagues and suppliers without relying on line-management authority.
- Strong written and spoken English, clear reporting and collaboration across time zones; experience supporting users through training and change support.
- Right to live and work near the advertised location; GAIN does not sponsor working visas or relocations.

- Data cleansing and migration
- Systems integration (e.g. with Salesforce)
- User acceptance testing and defect tracking
