JSS Mathematics & Physics Resident Teacher – 2‑Month Maternity Cover

About the role

Nova Pioneer seeks a dynamic JSS Mathematics and Physics Resident Teacher to cover a two‑month maternity leave at its Athi River campus. The role involves delivering the CBE curriculum, creating an engaging learning environment, and supporting students’ holistic development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lessons in mathematics and physics according to the curriculum and schemes of work.
• Develop, review and update lesson plans and assessment materials in partnership with the Curriculum Development Manager.
• Provide a safe, secure classroom environment and manage student behaviour.
• Organise and lead extracurricular activities such as games, arts, crafts, music and storytelling.
• Prepare classrooms and outdoor spaces for creative play and learning.
• Monitor, record and report each child’s progress to the Principal and parents.
• Supervise class projects, field trips and guest visits, guiding learning outcomes.
• Participate in professional meetings, training workshops and school events.

Required profile

• Valid TSC certificate and a relevant degree in Education.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility, problem‑solving ability and comfort with change.
• Enthusiasm for Nova Pioneer’s culture and a desire to develop leadership skills.
