Junior Accountant – Nairobi

About the role

CrossBoundary Group is seeking a full‑time Junior Accountant to join its finance team in Nairobi. This entry‑level position offers the chance to develop core accounting skills while supporting multi‑entity financial operations in a mission‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record and code financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Support accounts payable and receivable, including invoice tracking and payment follow‑ups.
• Upload bank statements and assist with bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports such as income statements and balance sheets.
• Maintain the general ledger, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and fixed‑asset register.
• Process employee expense reports and assist with cash‑flow tracking.
• Provide documentation for audits and support statutory filings.
• Offer general administrative and ad‑hoc support to the finance team.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience, including internships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to learn, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Progress toward a professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic familiarity with accounting software such as Xero or Sage.
