Junior Field Service Technician – Solar Water Systems

About the role

GivePower is seeking a Junior Field Service Technician to support the operation and maintenance of its solar‑powered desalination systems, known as Solar Water Farms. Working under the guidance of a Senior Field Service Technician, you will ensure that water and energy systems run efficiently, safely, and meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair solar energy and water treatment equipment.
• Maintain boreholes, injection wells, soak pits and related plumbing.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of solar water systems.
• Monitor system performance, collect operational data and report abnormalities.
• Repair civil, mechanical and electrical installations on site.
• Keep accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Monitor water quality parameters to comply with KEBS standards.
• Handle tools, electrical components and water treatment chemicals safely.
• Provide technical guidance and training to site‑level teams.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical, Water or Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2 years of technical maintenance or field‑service experience, preferably with solar or water‑treatment systems.
• Understanding of solar energy systems, water treatment processes and electrical controls.
• EPRA T1/T2 registration or equivalent is a plus.
