Knowledge Management and Advocacy Consultant – Health Financing

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Knowledge Management and Advocacy Consultant to support the newly created Health Economics and Financing (HEF) Section. The consultant will work remotely to organise evidence, craft communications, and drive advocacy that mobilises resources for child health financing.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate and govern HEF evidence, expertise and lessons into a structured knowledge repository.
• Develop and deliver communication products that translate technical evidence into clear messages for internal and external audiences.
• Design and implement the HEF Specialists Placement Initiative (HEF SPI) as the flagship advocacy vehicle.
• Support capacity‑building activities for UNICEF staff on health economics and financing.
• Produce a set of knowledge‑management, communication and advocacy deliverables, including the HEF Lab innovation platform.

Required profile

• Proven experience in knowledge management, communications or advocacy within health economics, financing or related development fields.
• Strong analytical ability to organise complex evidence and synthesize findings.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills, with experience producing policy‑oriented messaging.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams across UNICEF.

Required skills

• Familiarity with knowledge‑management systems and evidence repositories.
• Experience creating communication materials (briefs, fact‑sheets, presentations).
• Expertise in designing advocacy strategies and campaigns.
