About the role
The Laboratory Technologist will conduct complex diagnostic tests on clinical specimens, supporting disease detection, diagnosis and treatment. Working within a clinical laboratory environment, the role ensures adherence to established protocols and quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of complex laboratory analyses on patient samples.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Document test results accurately and communicate findings to healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory quality management systems and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
Required profile
- Degree in Laboratory Sciences or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- At least one year of internship or relevant working experience.
- Registered with a valid license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Health Management Information Systems.
- Understanding of Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS) initiatives.
- Good computer literacy, including standard office software.
