Lead Analyst – Data Operations

About the role

The Lead Analyst – Data Operations will act as the operational engine of the Data Desk, ensuring smooth, accurate delivery of data requests while mentoring junior analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Own the incoming L1/L2 request queue, triage tickets, categorize them across Logic, Exports, Ops, and Finance, and monitor SLA performance.
• Identify repeat requests, design and ship self‑service dashboards and automated data pipelines, and ensure outputs meet Sun King data quality standards.
• Perform 100% of code reviews for entry‑level analysts, checking SQL, LookML and dashboard logic for correctness and performance.
• Run daily stand‑ups, conduct 1‑on‑1s, onboard new analysts, and represent the Data Desk in cross‑functional ceremonies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related field.
• 4–9 years of experience in data/analytics operations, with 1–2 years of people‑management or mentoring experience.
• Proven ability to turn manual, recurring tasks into automated or self‑service solutions.

Required skills

• Strong hands‑on SQL skills.
• Experience with LookML or equivalent BI layer logic (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Metabase).
• Familiarity with AWS‑based data environments.
