Lead Dental Nurse

About the role

Our client is a busy, modern dental practice in Westlands, Nairobi, seeking a Lead Dental Nurse to head the nursing team and coordinate daily clinical workflows. The role combines hands‑on chair‑side support with leadership responsibilities to ensure high standards of patient care and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support the dental nursing and assistant team.
• Prepare staff rotas and guarantee adequate clinical coverage.
• Provide chair‑side assistance using four‑handed dentistry techniques.
• Maintain strict infection prevention and control standards.
• Oversee health‑, safety‑ and clinical‑waste compliance.
• Monitor dental equipment, arrange routine maintenance and manage stock levels.
• Maintain accurate patient records and use practice management software.
• Promote a professional, teamwork‑focused clinical environment.

Required profile

• Diploma in Dental Assistant from a recognized institution.
• Valid professional registration with the relevant regulatory body.
• Minimum five years of experience as a Dental Nurse.
• Leadership or senior‑role experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS) and strong understanding of dental procedures, infection control, health and safety.
