Lead Solar Installer – Commercial & Residential Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Solar Installer to head installation teams on commercial, industrial and residential solar projects across Kenya. You will ensure high‑quality installations, compliance with local regulations and safe execution from site assessment through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise solar installation crews on diverse projects.
• Install solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, battery storage (BESS), combiner boxes and associated wiring.
• Interpret technical drawings, single‑line diagrams and system layouts.
• Conduct pre‑installation site assessments and verify structural readiness.
• Perform system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Ensure compliance with EPRA regulations, Kenyan electrical codes and health & safety standards.
• Maintain installation records, progress reports and project documentation.
• Manage tools, materials and equipment on site.
• Mentor and train junior installers.
• Liaise with clients, project managers and engineers throughout project execution.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or related field.
• Minimum 4 years hands‑on solar PV installation experience, with 1–2 years in a supervisory or team‑lead role.
• Valid EPRA T2 License (T3 preferred).
• Knowledge of Kenyan electrical codes, EPRA regulations and health & safety standards.
• OSHA/NEBOSH certification and working‑at‑height training are an advantage.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Kenya and a valid driving licence (advantageous).
