Leadership Meeting Facilitator for CGIAR Sustainable Farming Program

About the role

The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking an experienced International Consultant to design, facilitate and document the CGIAR Sustainable Farming Program Leadership Meeting in Kigali, Rwanda, from 26–28 August 2026. The consultant will work closely with the Program Management Unit and the Program Director to create an engaging agenda, guide strategic discussions, and produce high‑quality documentation of decisions and actions.

Key responsibilities

• Review draft agenda and background documents, and refine the agenda with the Program Director and session leads.
• Develop a meeting design and facilitation methodology, including session guides, discussion questions and decision points.
• Facilitate all plenary and group sessions, ensuring inclusive, participatory and outcome‑focused discussions.
• Manage time, participation and group dynamics to keep the meeting on schedule.
• Support session leads in clarifying messages, guiding participants toward consensus and identifying emerging themes.
• Summarise key discussion points, decisions and agreed actions at the end of each session.
• Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and rapporteur(s) to capture accurate meeting documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilitating high‑level leadership or strategic meetings, preferably in international development or agricultural programs.
• Strong ability to design participatory workshop formats and decision‑making processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage senior stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated capacity to produce clear, concise meeting reports and action‑track documents.
